Short Description

Rapaki Track is a public road that starts from Centaurus Road and rises all the way to the Summit Rd.

The first section is a sealed road, surrounded by urban houses - this soon gives way to a rough 4x4 track. 

There are three sections to the 4x4 track: An initial uphill section, a flat middle and a steepish upper section.

This road can suffers  heavily from erosion in the winter and can be extremely rutted. However, it is always rideable. 

There are toilets at Centaurus Rd.

Getting there

Start at the intersection of Centaurus Rd, Rapaki Road and Ansley Terrace.  Bike up  Rapaki road to the top of the Summit road.

Distances 

The 4x4 Starts 600m from Centaurus Rd.

The second Gate is 2.6k from Centaurus Rd.
