Double Fence Line is a classic ride that starts and finishes at Little River with 1294 meters of accumulated climb.
Set aside a good five hours and expect a hard initial climb up a gravel road - followed by four hours of single track, accompanied by the joys of lifting your bike across numerous fences.
It’s a loop that starts in Little River, climbs up the Port Levy Road to a saddle. It then turns off the gravel road and heads east, following a paper road that often runs between a double fence line: Hence the nickname.
The single track runs mostly through grass - however there are tricky rock sections
From Mount Sinclair the track turns into a wide a grassey 4WD farm track - for a fast descent to the Summit Rd.
The farm track finishes on Pettigrews Road.
Turn right onto the Summit road for a sealed road ride to Hill Top.
Once at Hill Top from riders can descend the old unsealed stock route or wind their way down the sealed road. If you are overly tired: the sealed road is best, as its slope runs further down the valley towards Little River
All up, its about a 34 km loop and you climb from 5m about sea level to about 800m. It's a big climb - Three quarters of the climbing is completed within the first 15km.
