A number of the cross town bus routes terminate on or adjacent to the Port Hills and can be used to access the tracks rather than having to cycle right through the city or take your bike over by car. An advantage is that they allow you to vary your use of the hills tracks by using different approaches or starting points - for example starting a ride in Lyttelton, or by busing to Cashmere or Kennedys Bush and riding the single tracks along to Sumner.  They could also be handy if you have bike (or rider) problems, the weather cuts up, or you just don't feel up to the ride home in that head wind!

Also the 90 & 92 routes give access to the tracks on the north side of the Waimak (and further afield).

There is a bus route map available as well.
