A good-sized group of keen riders gathered on a cool late autumn night for a burst of what is becoming increasingly popular – night riding.

The track out there is not very technical, 100% rideable and offers a great cardio workout. It is excellent for developing riding skills and the ability to handle undulating terrain with plenty of tight twisty sections along with the odd straight run as well.

We completed two laps - a civilised warm-up lap to begin with and then a hot lap – for some. Given the turn out for this ride it could be a good idea to do another night ride before the start of daylight saving.

There also is a 12-hour race on this track in October for both teams and solo riders – club team, anyone?
