Lake Forsyth Status - 26th August 2008 PDF Print E-mail

Lake Forsyth has been opened to the sea (again), and will remain open until the swell seals the gap.

The Lake has risen steadily and is now at 2.3m on the Ecan Gauge. Fulton Hogan will be opening the lake today given that the sea conditions are suitable. The City Council have recently arranged to have the water level recording displayed on the Ecan Website. If anyone wishes to check the lake levels these can be seen by going to http://www.ecan.govt.nz/Our+Environment/Water/Rivers/RiverFlows/river-flow-table.htm

Once again sorry about the short notice but with the recent rain the inflows to the lake have been considerable and the water level has been rising up to 200mm per day, therefore it was important that we took the opportunity to open.

Many Thanks
